Mission Statement

The mission of RealWorkingMom.com is to provide information, ideas and support for working women who are also full-time mothers. This site is for real working mothers by real working mothers.

We are just regular moms who are facing the same day-to-day issues as you and we want to share our trials and triumphs. We are young, old, single, married. We have a wide range of jobs, daycare situations and income. We are real working moms.

We hope to offer a broad perspective on possibly the most difficult yet rewarding task many of us will face in our lives: Being a Working Mom.

We hope you join us in our journey.

History

In 2003, a group of working mothers was fortunate enough to meet up online and be able to offer each other support through an online bulletin board. From birth to teething to potty training, this group has turned to each other to help find the answers to their most perplexing parenting issues.

Finding this support invaluable in our adventures in motherhood, the group banned together to set out on another adventure. This time to expand our network and offer support to other working moms who were on the same journey we were all on that of finding a balancing between family and work. RealWorkingMom.com was launched on April 5, 2006 to help us do just that.

On October 15, 2006, the site was relaunched with a new design and many added features based on responses from our users. We hope you enjoy the new look and are always open to your suggestions.

Site Proceeds

A portion of the proceeds from RealWorkingMom.com goes to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through the Friends of Allie National Light The Night Team.
About Friends of Allie
Friends of Allie (FOA) is the first and largest national Friends and Family Team for Light The Night Walk. Motivated by the plight of Allie Scott (www.scotthousehold.com) and other children battling blood cancers like her, a grassroots movement emerged shortly after Allie's passing, resulting in the formation of FOA and its unprecedented fundraising efforts for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The team has raised over $725,000 in less than three years. In 2006, FOA enlarged its scope to include affiliate teams-both corporate and Friends and Family teams-who share their passion for finding a cure for pediatric blood cancers and making a difference in the lives of families stricken by pediatric blood cancer. Their tagline is "Putting a Face on Childhood Cancer". For more information, please visit: www.friendsofallie.org
